This is a first draft. It has been written by us and published so that it can be read and corrected, but it has not yet been reviewed by a Ghanaian lawyer. We will remove this notice once it has, and the version number will tell you which text you read.
What we are
We are a livestock farming business in Ghana. The company that operates this site is named, with its registration number, in the footer of every page.
What we are not
We are not a bank, and we do not take deposits. We are not licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, and nothing on this site is an offer of a financial product or a collective scheme. We do not promise returns of any kind, and nobody acting for us is permitted to.
If anyone tells you otherwise while claiming to act for us, that person is not acting for us, and we would be grateful if you would tell us.
Where we are today
We are not currently offering livestock for sale on this site, and we are not taking payments. We are building the platform and having its structure reviewed by Ghanaian legal counsel before any money changes hands.
Until that review is complete and the necessary registrations are in place, this site collects expressions of interest only. Joining the waitlist does not reserve an animal and creates no obligation on either side.
What we are working through
Before we accept a single payment, we intend to have in place:
- a written opinion from Ghanaian securities counsel on how this arrangement is properly characterised;
- arrangements under which customer money is held by a licensed party rather than by us;
- registration for the taxes that apply to our fees;
- registration with the Data Protection Commission;
- registration of our farms with the Veterinary Services Directorate, and the permits that apply to moving animals;
- an independent security test of the parts of this system that would handle money.
We will say on this page when each of these is done. We would rather be slow and dull about this than quick and wrong.
How to check on us
Our company registration can be verified with the Office of the Registrar of Companies. Where we hold a licence, certificate or policy, we publish the issuer and the reference number so that you can check it with the issuer directly rather than taking our word for it.
